If you are using tar to archive your files onto a tape medium there may be some ways to speed up writing. This applies to QNX4.

| Solution |
With large writes to tape, you may want to experiment with the blocksize, with tar -b. The default is 512 bytes/record. You may see better performance by increasing this. |
