It takes 2.5 mins for the backdrop to appear, but when it does the system response is OK - you can still see the windows re-generating quite slowly when you drag a window, but it is useable.

| Solution |
There are two main factors to consider in backdrop loading time. Size of the backdrop and speed of the machine. A 386-based machine can take a very long time to load images. An image which is larger than 300k can affect system speed greatly. |
