You need to install this patch only if you're installing version 1.0.1 of the Freescale MPC85x0 ADS BSP for QNX Momentics 6.3.0. If you're installing version 1.0.2 of the BSP for 6.3.0 with Service Pack 1, you don't need this patch because SP1 includes the updated versions of the kernel.

This patch is an archive created by the tar and gzip utilities (.tgz). Instructions for extracting the files are given below.

Installation procedure

1. Download the TX630_382_procnto.tgz archive to your $QNX_TARGET directory.
2. Back up the files that this patch replaces:
   • $QNX_TARGET/ppcbe/boot/sys/procnto-booke
   • $QNX_TARGET/ppcbe/boot/sys/procnto-booke-instr
3. Extract the archive you downloaded into the $QNX_TARGET directory:

   Method 1: Command-line based

   Open a command shell and use the commands given below.

   • Windows, Linux, and QNX Neutrino hosts:

     cd $QNX_TARGET
     tar -zxvf TX630_382_procnto.tgz
           

   • Solaris hosts:

     cd $QNX_TARGET
     gunzip TX630_382_procnto.tgz
     tar -xvf TX630_382_procnto.tar
           

   Method 2: GUI based

   Use any GUI-based application that supports the TAR format (e.g. WinZIP under Windows). Ensure that the destination directory is your $QNX_TARGET directory.

   ---

   If you use WinZIP, rename the archive to have an extension of .tar.gz instead of .tgz.
