QNX® Aviage Multimedia Suite 1.2.0 A/V Sync Patch Installation Note

Target OS: This software is compatible with target systems running QNX® Neutrino® 6.4.0 or 6.4.1.

Host OS: You must have already installed the QNX® Software Development Platform (SDP)  6.4.0 or 6.4.1 as a self-hosted QNX Neutrino system, or on one of the following hosts:

6.4.1 Windows Vista, Vista 64-bit, XP SP2 or SP3, or 2000 SP4 Linux Red Hat Enterprise Workstation 4.0 or 5.0, Red Hat Enterprise Server 5.1 64-bit, Red Hat Fedora 10, Ubuntu 8.04 LTS or 8.10, or SUSE 11


Caution:
  • This patch requires the Aviage Multimedia Suite 1.2.0 installed on your system.
  • Before proceeding, make sure that you have installed the applypatch patch: patch-640-1523-applypatch.tar.
  • Don't install milestone software on a production machine. You'll need to uninstall the milestone version before you install the production version of the software.
  • If you installed the milestone version of this patch, uninstall it before installing the production version.

Installing this patch

  1. Log in as root (or with administrator privileges on Windows).
  2. On Debian 3.1 hosts, set up your environment by typing:
    source /etc/profile
      
  3. Download the patch-640-1521-av-sync.tar archive to your host environment.
  4. On Windows hosts, run cmd.exe.
  5. Use the applypatch utility to install the patch:
    • On Linux, if you use sudo (as would be the case on Ubuntu), you must specify the -E option to preserve the environment. In this case, the PATH environment variable is set to a safe one for security reasons, so you need to specify the full path to the utility:
      sudo -E $QNX_HOST/usr/bin/applypatch patch-640-1521-av-sync.tar
          
    • On other hosts, type:
      applypatch patch-640-1521-av-sync.tar

Uninstalling this patch

  1. Log in as root (or with administrator privileges on Windows).
  2. On Debian 3.1 hosts, set up your environment by typing:
    source /etc/profile
      
  3. On Windows hosts, run cmd.exe.
  4. Use the applypatch utility to install the patch:
    • On Linux, if you use sudo (as would be the case on Ubuntu), you must specify the -E option to preserve the environment. In this case, the PATH environment variable is set to a safe one for security reasons, so you need to specify the full path to the utility:
      sudo -E $QNX_HOST/usr/bin/applypatch -U 1521
          
    • On other hosts, type:
      applypatch -U 1521
