Title Using a backup copy of a QNX harddrive results in boot loader errors.
Ref. No. QNX.000002811
Category(ies) Installation, Configuration
Issue When using a backed up QNX partition (copied from another drive) the system will startup, but at the boot loader only three dots appear and the system halts.  What is wrong?
Solution The boot image may need to be rebuilt (see the Installation and Configuration guide on details on how to do this).

Another thing that may be an issue is the drive geometry, when the backup was made, was it a direct copy of the original? If so was it to another drive with the EXACT same specs (size, cylenders, sect, heads...)?  If not then there may be a issue with the boot loader not being able to find the boot image.  For this to be repared the boot loader may need to be reinstalled (information on this also can be found in the Installation and Configuration manual).  If the drives are different they should have been copied with the free utility called "QNX Drive copy" found in the free software section (http://www.qnx.com/cgi-bin/dir_find.cgi?/usr/free)

There
is also another possible problem: Old style licenses. These licenses (in etc/licenses)
will get corrputed if they are copied by not using the "license" utility. You must use the "license" utility to copy these licenses for the backup.
