The hard drive can be accessed however, by booting from a floppy, and then mounting the hard drive. |
| Solution |
If the drive parameters are changed from the original settings that the OS has chosen, or if the BIOS settings for the hard drive are changed, the loader will not know where the boot image on the disk is.
Additionally, if the /.boot file is missing, this can cause the error as well.
Generally, the error message means just that - that the boot loader cannot find the /.boot file. Either because it is missing physically, or is misplaced geometrically elsewhere on the drive.
QNX4 will have to be re-installed without changing the disk translations reported by the BIOS.
