We are trying to get an HP Deskjet 712C working.
We are using the commands:
Dev.par &
cat <anything> /dev/par
and nothing comes out. The printer works fine in Windows 9x.

| Solution |
There is no support for this printer in QNX.
Normally in a situiatino like this try sending control characters (form feed end of page etc) and also try sending a large file to overrun the buffer.
However, in this case this is a Win-printer which, much like a Win-modem, needs drivers that are available only in Windows.
