After installing QNX 4.24 on my 4 Gig drive, fdisk reports 'maybe' in the boot columm for my QNX 4 partition. What does this mean?

| Solution |
The boot image has to be within the first 1024 cylinders of the hard drive. The bios can only search the first 1024 cylinders of the drive for the boot image. A large hard drive will have more then 1024 cylinders.
In the BIOS, you can enable LBA. LBA will remap the drive settings (heads, cylinders, and sectors) in such way that you will have more heads and sectors, but the cylinders will stay bellow 1024. This will not affect the size of the drive. |
