Issue |
We wish to view what is on another node. Can we use ditto to acheive this?

Solution |
These are the possible connectivity options for QNX.
Console to console: If the remote node does not use a graphical user interface (GUI),then use ditto. If the remote node does have a GUI, then it will depend if the GUI supports connectivity.
Photon to Photon: If both nodes are running Photon, 'phditto' can be used. Phditto will open up a pterm containing the remote Photon session.
Photon to a console: If the node is running Photon and the remote node is only in a console, then you will have to run ditto. Phditto requires that Photon is running on the remote node.
Console to Photon: It is not possible to view a Photon session from a console.
Photon to MS Windows: It's possible to view a Microsoft Windows server on a Photon session. To do this, the Citrix ICA client is required. The Citrix ICA client will connect to the windows box using a TCP/IP connection.
MS Windows to Photon: To connect to a Photon session from a Windows system, the Phindows utility is required. Phindows will allow either a TCP/IP or serial connection.
X Windows to Photon: PhinX will allow the viewing of a Photon session in the X windows environment.
