We have two computers connected to each other via a RJ-45 together. Our cable tester says the cable is OK. So why can't these two cards talk to each other? We're assuming that Carrier Sense Lost and Carrier Detect Failed are bad things.

| Solution |
You need to connect both computers to a hub to reverse T/R senses. You CAN connect two computers directly via an RJ-45 cable, but you must get a special "Crossover" RJ-45 cable, available at most computer stores. |
