There is a scenario where a large mp3 file (over 100MBs) that contained 50% corrupted data caused io-media-generic to take up a majority of the CPU. The cause of this high CPU was the initial average bitrate scan algorithm where the parser is scanning for mp3 headers.
The fix is to cap the amount of data for this scan based on a multiple of the maximum mp3 frame size.
