RPXLite BSP for QNX® Momentics® 6.2.1

Installation Note

Target OS: QNX® Neutrino® 6.2.1

Host OS: Microsoft Windows XP/2K/NT4 SP6A, Sun Solaris 7/8, QNX Neutrino 6.2.1

Make sure that Plug and Play OS is disabled in the BIOS before you run QNX Neutrino.
Never use the QNX Software Installer through a phditto/phrelay session, because:
  • the installer can't detect multiple instances of itself through a phditto/phrelay session
  • when running the reboot script, the installer can try to shut down the system, but it doesn't know how to shut down phditto/phrelay sessions properly (phshutdown, which you normally use to reboot, does know how to handle these sessions).

In this package

The RPXLite Board Support Package for QNX Momentics 6.2.1 contains one package that supports the Embedded Planet RPXLite and CLLF reference boards.

This BSP includes source code for the following components:

  • Flash File System
  • IPL
  • Startup
  • Ethernet

Installation

The included package is designed to function with QNX Neutrino 6.2.1. You must have already installed QNX Momentics 6.2.1 on a supported host platform before installing this new BSP package.

Start by downloading the appropriate QPR file, rpxlite-6.2.1-bld9.qpr. Remember the name of the directory that you downloaded the package into.

Windows and QNX Neutrino

To install this BSP on Windows and QNX Neutrino hosts:

  1. Launch the QNX Installer and input the path to the downloaded package.
  2. Select the RPX Lite BSP package and select Install.
  3. Follow the instructions on your screen.

Alternatively, you can use the command line installer (in QNX). For example: 

qnxinstall download-dir/rpxlite-6.2.1-bld9.qpr

After installing the BSP package, you'll notice that the following directory has been created: 

${QNX_TARGET}/usr/src/bsp-6.2.1/ppc/rpx-lite

Solaris hosts

To install this BSP on a Solaris host:

  1. Run cl-installer.
  2. Type i to install. When prompted to select a repository to open, choose o (to open an "other" repository).
  3. Enter the path to the downloaded package (i.e. the qpr file).
  4. Select the RPX Lite BSP package.
