Getting Started with the Sensor Framework for QNX SDP
The Sensor Framework for QNX SDP is built on the QNX Neutrino RTOS, which is a highly available, secure, realtime operating system.
The Sensor Framework provides sensor data acquisition capabilities
for applications that are used to build automotive, robotics, or other types of embedded
systems. There are libraries for getting data from cameras and sensors,
visualizing this data using viewers and algorithms, and performing synchronized
recording of data from multiple sources.
For information about some of the available third-party algorithms, see
Reference image vision-processing support.
Installing the Sensor Framework
To get started, you must first have the QNX Software Center and
QNX Software Development Platform (SDP) installed on your host system.
For information on the version to use, see the Sensor Framework
Release Notes. You then use the QNX Software Center to
install the following components onto your system:
- QNX SDP 7.1 Sensor Framework Base — this mandatory package contains all libraries, binaries, and configuration and other data files needed for this release. This allows you to install the Sensor Framework as an add-on component to QNX SDP.
- The reference images for any hardware platforms that you want to use.
For more information, see
Working with reference images
in this guide. - Hardware Support packages, based on the hardware platforms you want to develop on. These packages install the necessary image-generation tools, including hardware-specific components, and the board support package (BSP).
Note:
Ensure that you look at the Sensor Framework
Release Notes from the QNX Software Center.
