Troubleshoot Common Issues
This chapter describes ways to fix problems you may encounter when you work with the VMware reference image. You should also see the release notes for this reference image to check for known issues or limitations.
In general, you can look for errors in the system logs (slogs). For example, you can run the following command to check
for errors with the Sensor service:
slog2info -b sensor_serviceLook for error_warnings logs that may assist you in understanding why the failure occurred.
Sensor and camera issues
- The sensor service doesn't start:
Symptoms: When you restart your target system, the sensor service doesn't start. If you run the pidin command, you don't see the sensor service running.
Suggested Resolutions: The configuration for the camera connected to your system may be incorrect. Here are some ways you can resolve the problem:- Check that the type parameter matches the type of camera you are using.
- If you are using a USB camera, ensure that the camera is connected to the VMware machine running the reference image.
- Ensure that the camera or sensor that's specfied in your sensor configuration file is connected and powered on.
